Its design takes us to the pashtoon tribes in Northern Pakistan and Afghanistan. The quality of the chiselling, engraving and granulation on this piece is outstanding, elegant and well-balanced. The Kuchi people, from the Persian -koch- meaning migration, are Afghan pashtoons nomads divided in a number of tribes that inhabit areas of Afghanistan and, to a lesser extent, Pakistan. Their jewellery is quite often very colourful using silver, glass and, in some fewer cases, enamel. Mid-XXth century o anterior.

An original Pashtoon old silver hinged cuff from Afghanistan or Northern Pakistan. It show a nice and simple engraved and emossed decoration. The well faded central medallions may have been coins that have worn out as a result of intensive traditional use. Its closes with a sliding pin. Mid-XXth century or earlier.

Its is ornated with carnelians and features a characteristic engraved decoration. It shows some traces of fire gilding and a superb patina. A piece full of character. A great antique silver cuff from the Turkmen tribe of the Ersari. The Ersari is one of the main five Turkmen tribes inhabiting Turkmenistan and some neighboring countries. It shows a beautiful engraved decoration and a lovely patina. It is not very flexible so please make sure it will fit you!.

A great Berber old silver bracelet from Southern Morocco. It is a design with great character made of chiselled silver plaques further decorated with round silver studs. Possibly from the area of Guelmim in Western Sahara though very similar ones are found in Akka, Tata and Jbel Bani and some areas close to the Draa Valley. Other nanes: -meufokh-.

A great old Kuchi silver bracelet from Afghanistan. It is made of many units of silver strung cotton cords in parallel rows. It closes with a flat coin-like piece decorated with seems to be a mosque or a mausoleum and an end loop. Similar examples using this same technique may be found also in Indian neighbouring state of Punjab. Beautiful and eye catching.

A nice Afghani silver filigree hinged bracelet from the Hazara group. It features a remarkable silver filigree work and a lovey central turquoise stone cabochon. It closes with a pin. Mid-XXth century.

A great Turkoman Tekke old fire gilded silver and glass cabochons cuff from Afghanistan. Fire gilding is applied to make a nice pattern on incised silver. The red color of the cabochons would have a protective effect on the wearer and would provide strength. The claw-like prongs are very distinctive of these pieces. Not adjustable. The words -zul fekhar-, a man's name, are engraved inside and that is probably the name of the artisan that made it or of the person who commissioned it.
