    An old Tuareg silver and glass ring. This type of ring is worn by those who have been to Mecca on pilgrimage (hadji). The green colour, the colour of Islam, of the glass is believed to afford protection to its owner. Lovely patina. The Tuareg are a nomadic Berber (amazigh) group that lives in the Sahara Desert. Early XXth century.
